The student that sued the University of Nigeria Nsukka to Court is Ogunbamowo Damilola. The student sued the institution after discovering that her Matric Number was used to mobilize another student for NYSC. She is a graduate of the department of Mathematics Education and completed her studies in December 2018.
In 2019 her coursemates were mobilized for NYSC but her name was missing from the list.
When she demanded an explanation from the school she was told that her matric number had been used to mobilize someone else.
In a petition obtained by some reporters, the graduate requested immediate deployment and demanded the sum of N100million as damages.
It was stated by the student defense counsel as this,
The petition reads: “The above subject matter refers. We are the solicitors to Ogunbamowo Damilola Abigail, a 2017/2018 graduate of Mathematics Education with Matric No: F/BS/14/3880001 (hereinafter referred to as “our clients”) and on whose instructions we hereby write this letter of demand.
“Our clients briefed us as follows; That she was offered admission on a full-time basis as could be deduced from her admission letter into Mathematics Education with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Yabatech Satellite Campus. The said course of study was completed in December 2018.
”It is our brief that our client completed her course of study in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Yabatech Satellite Campus in flying colors, and her name was cleared as not having any outstanding (Carryovers).
