UNEC SUG Welfare Officer Slashes The Price Of Food On Campus


The SUG director of welfare UNEC, Comr Mbah Ibeabuchi Evans has finally taken a bold step to address the issue of unplanned increase in the prize of Food sold on campus.

Yes, before now student complained about the food increment upon return from the summer holiday and the SUG WELFARE OFFICER in his kind heart took a bold step to address the issue.

He held series of meets with all vendors on campus and in the meeting the SUG welfare committee alongside representatives from each vendor sat to discuss if anything can be done to slash cost of food on campus.

UNN Releases Primary List For 2022/2023 Session

After much deliberation an agreement was reached which lead to the circulation of e-signed memo through the office of the Director of welfare, UNEC, dated 20th January, 2023. It read;


Food without meat will be 300 naira while food with meat will be 400 naira“

– “SUG Director of Welfare and his committee will do a market survey and get back to the food vendors on or before two weeks after which the SUG Director of welfare and his committee will then decide if we should remain with the resolution or if there will be mild adjustment in the food price“

– “Any food vendors that fails to abide by these resolutions and extort the students or in other terms harass will be dealt with severely.

After the e-signed memo was released, a lot of students were pleased with the outcome of the meeting as it will help them [students] feed well with little amount of money.
