Today there was a court sitting on Nnamdi Kanu’s case who was charged with a treasonable felony.
There were many clashes between Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Chief Ozekhome, and the prosecution’s Counsel, Labaran.
This made the judge adjourn the case to the 18th and 26th of May 2022.
During today’s court proceeding, there was much disagreement between the defense counsel and the prosecution counsel.
Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer instigated that his client should be granted bail according to the 1999 Constitution since there is a presumption of innocence.
In response to this, the prosecution counsel retaliated by citing the experience they had with Nnamdi Kanu. Who was granted bail in 2017 over health issues but has failed to provide a medical report to date?
Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, retorted, My client was running for his life since the military invaded his house and destroyed his properties. That was the main reason for his jumping on bail then.
The argument continued until the Judge made a declaration that the case of granting l will be determined on the 18th and 26th of May 2022.
