Putin grew up to see Ukraine and Russia as one under the Soviet Union. But the collapse of the Union led to the creation of many countries which Ukraine is among. Now Ukraine is making allies and ties with the western world countries like the US, UK, Canada, etc. Putin is not in support of that union as he still sees Ukraine as a part of Russia, hence, Ukraine should be like Russia.
Recently, Ukraine wants to join NATO( North Atlantic Treaty Organization).
One of the major functions is to keep world peace, as its members agree to come to the aid and help another’s aid in the event of an armed attack against any other member state. Putin doesn’t like NATO and is staging an invasion of Ukraine.
These have led to various international condemnations. Recently, the UK has made some sanctions on Russia owing to the threatened invasion. This invasion may probably lead to another world war. However, international diplomats are of the view that this is a test on Biden’s government to know if they’re up to the task.
With the quest to carry out and justify the attack, Putin claimed and stated“A hostile anti-Russia is being created on our historic lands.”
Russian Forces have unleashed an attack of
Ukraine with the orders of Vladimir Putin, who declared a “special military operation” at dawn or night, amid warnings from world leaders that it could spark the biggest war in Europe since 1945.
Within minutes of Putin’s short televised address, at about 5 am Ukrainian time, explosions were heard near major Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kyiv, The Guardian UK reports.
The area of the Russian attack appears to be massive and extreme.
Countries are urged to continue praying for Ukraine after the announcement of the President of the United State of America, Joe Biden on his Twitter handle this morning.
