Bauchi residents have been thrown in disbelief as Sani and Siraj—two sons of the controversial Sharia lawyer cum Chief Justice, Muhammed Tanko—swept the PDP and APC tickets for Bauchi North senatorial seat and Shira-Giade federal representative constituency, respectively.
In a lavish display of stupendous wealth, Siraj Tanko beat incumbent Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa to clinch the APC ticket after corrupting party delegates with fleets of cars and humongous wads of cold cash.

Both children, before the elections, were sparsely known as rich kids — out of touch with the plight of poverty-stricken Bauchi residents, and — with neither political influence nor community impact. Their ability to recklessly cough out billions of Naira without a traceable source of income is a heavy indictment on the so-called anti-corruption mandate of their father, justice Tanko.
Under Nigeria’s President Buhari, the highly revered national seat of justice is unabashedly denigrated as a bastion of impetuous corruption, a special looting conduit, and a putrid antithesis to justice. Respect for rule of law is thrashed alongside freedom of speech and religious tolerance and replaced with a destructive terrorist-friendly Islamization agenda.
Tanko: The corrupt, incompetent betrayer who became CJN.
Recall that Tanko’s uncontroversial ascension to judicial power in 2019 came on the wings of a Buhari-sanctioned illegal appointment.
Tanko — an incompetent junior Sharia lawyer — hastily presented himself for swearing-in, forcing several senior and more qualified justices to early retirement and betraying the authority of his principal, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
A nameless and faceless puppet civil rights group, allegedly acting on the orders of principals loyal to Buhari’s second-term bid, had cast frivolous financial allegations against Justice Onnoghen.
Onnoghen, who openly expressed his disgust over Buhari’s leadership, was unconstitutionally stripped of the power, paving was for Buhari’s extremist-loving puppet lawmaker, Tanko.
Now fed fat on the riches of an office without probe after delivering on the job of hurling Buhari to power for the second time, Tanko seeks to spread his dynasty through his two sons.
Both Buhari and the civil rights group that accused Justice Onnoghen of financial corruption are silent on Tanko’s brazen corrupt practices.
The future of Nigeria hangs in greater doom, with unpopular, incompetent, and corrupt legislators like the Tanko family.
