The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has informed the entire public of their decision of adopting another code, 66019 to the existing 55019 code for registration.

This was seen in their weekly press release on Monday, 7th of February 2022 by the JAMB Registrar.

JAMB as an examination body said it established the use of the 66019 code as a selective USSD code to its 55019 code, which has been in use since 2018, for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and its other services and activities.

“This was done to enhance a smooth and free 2022 UTME/ Direct Entry (DE) exercise and to enable a suitable generation of profile codes and other registration procedures.

To this effect, both codes will be used for registration in this coming 2022/2023 JAMB registration as all candidates are expected to take the new development seriously.

From the report gathered “Candidates are advised to send their NIN( the number), via either of the codes for their details to be pulled out from the NIMC database before they move to any accredited JAMB center for biometric capturing and registration,” JAMB said.

The exam board (JAMB) detailed further that the new dimension is among the strategies derived to stop all forms of hurdles associated with the profile creation and other registration and for ease too.

Also according to JAMB, they said that another measure of innovation is the integration of the WhatsApp platform as means of getting code and for clients’ complaints likewise candidates too.

The exam board said that the platform is also part of the effort to enhance the system of the exam and attend to diverse issues that may come from clients and candidates.

“With the WhatsApp platform, candidates and other stakeholders with visitors would have the benefit of instant messaging, responses, and solutions to whatever query they might have regarding any of the operations of the board and full details of the program in case.

“The platform is not replacing any existing sources of attending to client’s complaints but complement and as well substitute the existing ticketing system we have, thereby expanding access to critical services and major issues among others,” JAMB said.

At the point of this information, the exam board did not release any WhatsApp numbers. As they promised to do so.
