Israelites Deserve Fair Treatment

Israelites deserves fair treatment. The Arab world, the UN, and the EU condemned the visit of Itamar Ben-Gvir to the Al-Aqsa mosque compound on January 3.

The visited Al-Aqsa compound, also known as the Temple Mount, is the most sacred site to the Jews and the third-holiest place in Islam. Thus, non-Muslims are not permitted to pray inside but can tour around.

The visit by Israel’s extreme-right new national security minister to Jerusalem’s super-sensitive Al-Aqsa mosque compound angered the Palestinians and US allies in the Arab world, while Western governments warned such moves threaten the fragile status quo at Jerusalem’s holy sites.

Notably, Ben Gvir did not enter the mosque. But he made a 15-minute visit to the Temple Mount compound around 7 a.m., during the time Jews are allowed to enter the site.

According to Hebrew media reports, Eitan Surkis, Israel’s ambassador to Jordan, when called into Jordan’s Foreign Ministry offices for a dressing-down, told the Jordanians that Israel remained committed to the status quo, that there had not been any violations of the agreement, and that Israeli ministers had visited the site in the past.

The United Nations spokesman said Secretary General Antonio Guterres called “on all to refrain from steps that could escalate tensions in and around the holy sites.”

Also, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that a change to the status quo of Jerusalem’s holy sites would be “unacceptable.”

Advice To Americans Against Helping Only Palestinians While Neglecting Israelis

while State Department spokesman Ned Price said the United States was “deeply concerned” by Ben-Gvir’s visit, which could “provoke violence.”

In addition, the UAE and Morocco, which established diplomatic ties with Israel in 2020, both spoke out against Ben-Gvir’s action.

On the contrary, seven people were killed and at least three more injured in a synagogue shooting that happened on Holocaust Memorial Day, which commemorates the six million Jews and other victims who were killed in the Holocaust by the Nazi regime in Germany. Also on Saturday, two people were injured in a separate attack outside the Old City.

These are just a few of the attacks on Jews by the Palestinians, yet the chorus of international criticism from the UN, EU, etc. due to a mere visit is greater compared to the deadliest attack of its kind in years by the Palestinians on the Jews.

The UN, EU, and other international communities ought to be fair when dealing with Israelis rather than receiving their hypocritical and biased treatment. They should therefore give Israel fair treatment and stop being anti-Israel because Israelis deserve fair treatment. And what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
