Nigerian afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently disclosed in an interview with Forbes that Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, buys only two cars every eight years.
During the interview, Davido also spoke about his family’s relationship with Dangote, revealing that his billionaire father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, is friends with the world’s richest black person. He praised Dangote for being a disciplined and different kind of billionaire, who always advises him to save his money.
“Every time I see him, he just says one thing, ‘Save your money!’,” said Davido. “There’s nothing more he tells me, every time save your money. He and my dad have been very close friends.”
Davido also acknowledged Dangote’s contributions to Nigeria, saying, “He has done well for us back home. He made us a lot of industries. He just opened the biggest factory in Africa. That’s providing jobs.”
